Something rare landed in our hands: an invitation to spend a late-summer weekend with Rose & Jay at Romantica, an amazing mountain retreat, for good food, cold beers, and the best company we know.

A meeting of two places we care about.

• Romantica opens its house, its lake, and its mountain air, where Rose & Jay welcome you the way only they can.

• Deck44, our home for cooking, craft beer and everything worth gathering around, brings the fires, the food and the tasting table.

Together we are joining efforts to turn one Saturday into a party experience worth remembering, and we could not think of a better crowd to test it on.

Food will come in waves all Saturday: a barbecue from early afternoon, a hot dog station as the sun drops, and a late-night pot of chili for whoever is still standing.

Sunday will be all about chill. Coffee, long breakfasts, a last swim, and time to say a proper goodbye to the summer.
