Foundation Brewing

Epiphany, and It Doesn't Stop There

We remembered little of Foundation, except the one beer: Epiphany. We had tried it before this trip, and it was as good as one can remember, the hazy double IPA that still ranks among the best in Portland.

This time we had Fetch too, their NEIPA, and it was great in its own right: citrus and tropical fruit, an easy beer to keep drinking.

The outpost itself is small. A modest patch of outdoor seating off the lot, almost a parking space with tables, fire tables, and heaters overhead to take the edge off.

There is a pizza window too; ours was fine, enough to grab a bite and keep drinking.

What Foundation has going for it is the address. It sits in the same row as the other breweries on Industrial Way, which makes it a natural stop on a day spent hopping from one to the next. You come, you have an Epiphany, you try one or two equally amazing brews, you move on.
