Tree House Brewing
The Home of Julius
Tree House Brewing Company is one of New England’s most celebrated craft breweries, founded in 2011 in a converted barn in Monson, MA. Today, their Tewksbury taproom is a stunning destination, vast in scale yet surprisingly cozy once you’re inside, with warm wood, stone fireplaces, and an outdoor patio.
Tree House pioneered the New England IPA style: hazy, juicy, and low on bitterness, with a silky, custard-like mouthfeel. Their beers are sold exclusively at the brewery, making every visit feel like a pilgrimage. Expect a gift shop, a world-class pizza kitchen, and seating designed for lingering.
World-Class Hazy IPAs - Julius remains one of the finest NEIPAs on the planet — silky, tropical, and perfectly balanced. Juice Machine and Green are equally exceptional on draft.
Peak Fall Foliage Drive - The October drive through northeastern Massachusetts was spectacular — golden canopies and winding roads that make the destination feel earned.
We saw a relaxed crowd on a quiet Thursday, a few golfers enjoying time off, not the typical weekend rush. But the place is built for scale. The venue is clearly designed for large crowds, and we were told there are days when the pizza wait can be up to 3 hours (!).
The pizza, however, is a must. The pepperoni was enormous, beautifully charred, and one of the genuine surprises of the day — a perfect pairing for the IPAs.
The place looks intimidating from the outside, the sheer size is staggering, yet it feels warm and welcoming once inside. This visit felt like a private tasting.
Full gift shop, cozy lounge seating, fireplace ambiance — designed to make you want to stay for hours.
And of course, the beers. A great choice.
